Answer: Formed more than thirty years ago, WLA Studio (formerly The Jaeger Company) is a design and planning firm committed to the preservation and enhancement of our cultural and natural environments. The firms headquarters is in downtown Athens, GA. Landscape Architecture, Planning, Environmental Assessment, and Historic Preservation are the professional and technical foundations of the firm. The multi-disciplinary staff of eight includes Registered Landscape Architects, Certified Planners, LEED Certified Designers, Certified Soil and Water Conservation Designers, Certified Arborists, Preservation Professionals, Architectural Historians, Landscape Historians, Graphic Designers, qualified CAD (computer-aided design) operators, and related support staff. WLA serves a range of institutional and government agencies. Our areas of specialization include urban planning, streetscapes and corridors, parks and recreation design, campus design and construction documents, historic site preservation, and cultural landscape planning. WLA Studio has managed multiple on-call design and planning contracts with municipal, state, and federal agencies. WLA Studio is currently on multiple contracts providing both new construction design and historic resource planning for the National Park Service. We have provided master planning and design for park and recreation departments for multiple counties in Georgia. Our projects include passive and active recreational design. Our past and current work also includes projects involving the protection of historic and environmental resources. Much of our work has been in historic landscapes, where we have developed plans to satisfy recreational needs while minimizing impact to irreplaceable resources.
