Answer: The Wendy Walk is an annual charity walk taking place in New York City, Miami, Los Angeles and Park City to raise funds and awareness for rare sarcomas. Additionally, Wendy Walk hosts indoor cycling events in Boston, San Francisco, and Washington DC. Wendy Walk has traditionally funded research for Liposarcoma, a rare cancer that affects the fat cells. The Wendy Walk was started in 2010 by Ali, Matt and Jackie Landes in support of their mom Wendy who was diagnosed with Liposarcoma in 2008. Because Sarcomas are so rare, they do not receive any government funding and thus depends solely on donations to fund new research. Since 2010, the Wendy Walk has raised over $2.1 million dollars that has gone towards funding international research. Wendy sadly passed away in March, 2013 after an incredibly brave, inspiring, and hard fought 5 year battle against this terrible disease. The Wendy Walk is more committed than ever to find a cure to this disease to prevent sarcomas from taking any more lives.
