Answer: We are a Community Improvement District (CID), which is a special governmental entity formed by local commercial property owners. There are around 25 CIDs in Metro Atlanta, including Buckhead, Midtown, and Downtown. Property owners in the CID fund the CID and are able to spend the money on infrastructure improvements, beautification and public safety. A CID is the best tool available to property owners trying to keep their corner of Atlanta competitive in the region. CIDs are collaborative. We leverage our funds through partnerships with other entities such as the City of Atlanta, Renew Atlanta, the Department of Public Works, and the Georgia Department of Transportation to attract additional infrastructure investment to the District. Partnerships are key to a great neighborhood, some of our partners include: Atlanta Bicycle Coalition, Atlanta Regional Commission, Renew Atlanta, GA Department of Transportation, PATH Foundation, MARTA, and Georgia Tech.
