Answer: History In September 2004, 21-year-old Tim Griffith was killed in a senseless and devastating act of violence. Tims mother, Stacey Redman, created the Tim Griffith Foundation in 2005 to carry Tims memory forward. Through the exceptional partnership with the Bridges Program and the Service League of San Mateo County, Tims House was born. Tims House provides transitional housing for young men recovering from addiction and returning to society after incarceration. We sponsor a counselor at Seqouia High School in Redwood City who counsels at risk high school students coming out of juvenille hall or community schools back into mainstream high school. This is a difficult and vulnerable time for these young adults and we are proud to say that 16 out of 17 students in the program have graduated from high school. In 2010 we began providing direct services through the creation of the unique Meadowlark Retreats for grieving mothers. Today, we provide a variety of services to the community through a combination of financial support and our signature programs. Accomplishments Issued more than 40 grants to local nonprofits, totaling over $225,000 Opened Tims House in 2008, providing a sober living environment for young men rebuilding their lives . Sponsor or a counselor for at risk youth in Redwood City Started the Meadowlark Retreats for grieving mothers in 2010 Began plans to provide a Sibling Retreat in 2012 .
