Answer: Our mission is to help children and their families when their lives have been forever changed by fire. In this regard we assist families with children in burn treatment by funding family rooms at burn centers and providing financial assistance to help families adjust and live during treatment. Our vision is a world without pediatric burns. In this regard we work with fire departments throughout the Atlanta metro region to facilitate a Save A Life Blitz in high-risk neighborhoods where the fire department can install or ensure working smoke alarms in each residence, and The Ronnie Thames Foundation provides burn prevention and fire safety materials with a fire extinguisher to the families. Our goal is to replicate this program nationwide and worldwide. We also fund The Soaring To Greater Heights Scholarship to aid firefighters committed to continuing education and service to the community. Our signature annual event is The Silent Hero Awards, which recognizes firefighters who make a difference in metro Atlanta communities through their commitment, dedication, and community spirit. Fire Departments nominate a firefighter, team , or department in one of four categories: Leadership, Education/Community, Heroism, and Teamwork. Nominated firefighters are our esteemed guests for this evening which is quickly becoming one of the most prestigious in the Southeast. We actively seek corporate sponsorships of The Silent Hero Awards and the Save a Life Blitz year round.
