Answer: 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Southern California. Our mission, duty and purpose is to serve and provide support to organizations serving orphaned children and children experiencing poverty, through the distribution of funds, and the disbursement of in-kind donations. We are currently providing support to Divine Providence Home, an orphanage located in Ogoja, Nigeria. Founded and operated by the sisters of the Handmaids of the Holy Child Jesus (HHCJ), Divine Providence Home has taken in and cared for over 120 children who have been orphaned, abandoned or left vulnerable. It is one of the only orphanages in Ogoja, a rural city with a population of about 230,000 residents. The Okaja Foundation distributes regular grants to the orphanage, aiding it in keeping its doors open and helping the home increase its sustainability. Our foundation also supports Catholic Maternity Hospital, also located in Ogoja Nigeria, in an in-kind capacity by donating infant and maternity clothing, diapers and other items to assist the hospital's mothers, newborns and adolescents.
