Answer: Joy Erickson has enjoyed the neighborhoods of White Bear Lake for most of her life. Graduating from Mahtomedi, she continued her studies at Concordia College in Moorhead, majoring in Elementary Education with an emphasis on Writing. She pursued her passion for education as an elementary school teacher and then in District Management for Sylvan Learning Centers for 9 years. Joys territory included Maplewood, Roseville, Woodbury, Burnsville, Edina, Maple Grove, Coon Rapids, Monticello and St. Cloud. During this time, Joy mastered the Twin Cities roadways, neighborhoods and school districts. She trained staff in sales and teaching techniques, researched different markets for expansion, and managed the marketing and advertising for 17 franchises. This diverse skill-set and unique connection with people from so many different places sparked something inside Joy. In 2005, Joy made a life-changing decision and altered her career path, while staying true to her passion to educate and guide others. Real Estate was on her horizon. Working as a White Bear Lake Real Estate Agent has allowed Joys compassion for people to shine through and has been the driving force in her success. She has incorporated her formal education skills into a thriving business. Joy takes great pride in educating her clients during the buying and selling process, from advice to research, negotiating to compromising, guidance counselor to savvy salesperson, and everything in between. Wearing different hats is what being a Full-Time Realtor is all about. Joy listens and then reacts. Nearly all of our business comes from Referrals and repeat clients. In her free time, Joy is heavily involved in the local White Bear Lake community. She volunteers with the White Bear Lake Chamber of Commerce and Historical Society, Feed My Starving Children, the White Bear Lake Emergency Food Shelf, several groups at First Lutheran Church, serves on the Manitou Days Committee and sponsors various events.
