Answer: We are an Independent Christian Church which came out of the Restoration Movement of the frontier period of America. The Restoration Movement was fueled by the desire to call all followers of Christ to unity by simply returning to the Bible as our source of authority. We do not believe that man-made creeds are necessary as the Bible is complete in and of itself as a guide for our individual lives as well as church doctrine. We have no denominational hierarchy or denominational structure. Each church operates independently while following the leadership of the local church elders who look to the Bible as their source of guidance and submit to Christ as the Head of the Church. (Ephesians 1:22) We do not profess to be the only Christians but rather Christians only. Therefore, we choose to be called simply Christians rather than another distinctive denominational name.
