In 2021 he was joined in the work of Tenacious Change by his son, Jakob Klaus, who became the Principal Partner in 2023. Since 2013 Tenacious Change has worked with nonprofit organizations throughout the United States and Canada of all sizes, on a variety of issues such as behavioral health, teen pregnancy prevention, employee retention, and organizational culture. At Tenacious Change we are all about community, organization, and system change through collective change leadership. We offer a research-based approach, known as the Tenacious Change Approach, to create and facilitate a movement for ownership-based change. Ownership-based change means the change is led by and with those who are most impacted by the change whether they are residents of a community, frontline workers in an organization, or those who work in the lower levels of a system. The Tenacious Change Approach is grounded in participation, ownership, equity, and leadership of, by, and with those most affected by the change.
