Answer: Tarrant Churches Together, formerly know as Tarrant Area Community of Churches, was created in the early 1950s, to bring congregations and community organizations together to address needs and positively impact lives across Tarrant County. To fulfill its mission, TCT focuses on transformational initiatives involving education, poverty, homelessness, and more. We seek to serve our Lord Jesus Christ together in ways we cannot serve Him alone. Our purpose has always been to serve the larger community in ways that put Gods love into on-the-ground action for all the people in this community. Through living our faith together and working as members of the one Body of Christ, we are all transformed, and God grows the fruits of the Spirit in, through, and beyond us. As churches in community, we are able to put our resourcs together to impact the community in ways we could not do as churches alone. By joining the experience, skills, and expertise of congregation members with the needs of students in struggling schools, we can help students succeed and move on to college or training in special careers. By bringing together the resources of congregation members, we can come alongside individuals and families seeking to stay off the streets with encouragement, community connections, and mentoring. By using our gifts as disciples of Jesus Christ, we can move across dividing lines and work together to build understanding and collaboration. In large ways and in small, we can use our God-given gifts the way they were intended: to build up areas of this community where hope and a hand up are needed. Over the years, area congregations through the work of TCT have organized resources to address unmet needs by initiating community services which still exist today including - Red Cross "Wheels" program Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention, Inc. Emergency Assistance of Tarrant County (EATC) Northside Inter-Church Agency (NICA) Family Pathfinders of Tarrant County
