Co-founded by DJ/producer TOKiMONSTA, Sona is an artist-centric streaming platform that combines free music streaming with a marketplace that addresses broken streaming economics so artists can keep more of the value they create with their music. While some have fractionalized traditional royalties by selling IP and others sell digital collectibles of songs with no utility beyond collecting, Sona incorporates the best elements of both. On Sona, artists aren't selling existing royalties or IP; they're exclusively selling rewards generated within the Sona ecosystem. There are two revenue models: streaming rewards, distributed pro-rata based on the proportion of total streams; and SONAs, where supporters can purchase 70% of streaming royalties to support their favorite artists. Sona is the flagship product of Sona Technologies, a music technology company realigning how value is generated, captured and rewarded across the industry ecosystem.
