Answer: All that is good begins with a Good Night Sleep! Millions of Americans suffer daily from fatigue due to Obstructive Sleep Apnea and other sleep-related breathing disorders. Obstructive Sleep Apnea causes normal breathing to be disrupted during sleep which results in serious concerns such as poor sleep quality, cardiovascular disorders, cognitive problems, and excessive daytime sleepiness. Our practice is dedicated to facilitating treatment with oral appliance therapy for those patients suffering from Obstructive Sleep Apnea. In collaborating with local board certified sleep physicians, we can aid in sleep apnea therapy by offering additional treatment options to the traditional CPAP machine and surgeries. Dentists can play a significant role in both diagnosed and undiagnosed sleep apnea patients as we regularly examine the oral structures and tissues of the upper airway. We are proud to announce Dr. Erik Wipf has recently become an American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine (ABDSM) Diplomate. He attended a training at Tufts University for Dental Sleep Medicine and annually attends the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM) meeting. He has vastly increased his knowledge in the field of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) and oral appliance therapy (OAT) to better treat his patients.
