Answer: The Schools, Health & Libraries Broadband (SHLB) Coalition is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) advocacy organization that supports open, affordable, high-quality broadband connections for anchor institutions and their surrounding communities. Based in Washington, D.C., SHLB has a diverse membership of commercial and non-commercial organizations that support its mission from across the United States. We believe that connecting schools, libraries, and health clinics to strong broadband is key to closing the digital divide and ending the homework gap. We work with policymakers at every level of government to develop policies that enable these institutions to obtain the high-speed Internet they need. Our areas of focus include the E-rate program, the Rural Health Care program, broadband infrastructure, and unlicensed and licensed spectrum.
