Answer: The mission of the SEAL Future Foundation (SFF) is to provide Navy SEALs with a foundation that supports their well-being, education and career to continue a life of service within their communities. The SFF is a 501(c)(3) public nonprofit organization that provides a comprehensive suite of free lifetime resources to prepare active duty and veteran SEALs for success in the civilian world. The militarys most highly selected operator, The Navy SEAL personifies the qualities most crucial to success in the private sector: commitment, teamwork, resilience, problem-solving, motivation, selflessness and drive. However, the intense demands and focus required during a decade of war preclude the development of industry knowledge and relationships critical to their transition. The SFF was founded in 2012 to empower SEALs to achieve success as civilians. By enabling each transitioning SEAL to discover his purpose outside of the military and through partnerships with industry elites and best in class programs, the SFF ensures that each transitioning SEAL becomes a force multiplier in the private sector. The SFF's Four Pillars focus on the comprehensive components of a successful transition. Health: Years of intense missions result in significant post-traumatic stress and brain injury that can lead to crippling depression, addiction and sometimes suicide. SFF pairs SEALs with essential healthcare and helps cover the high costs of treatment. Career: SFF mentors SEALs on career fit, helps identify specific opportunities and provides networking groups. We also coach employers on how SEALs skills will translate to their businesses. Education: SFF works with SEALs to identify any additional education they need and helps cover the high cost of tuition. Community: A SEALs inherent focus on team means that operating alone is a huge challenge when he separates. Our growing network of Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) across the country replicates the community of the SEAL Team
