Answer: Schultz Squared Architects, LLC, established in 2013, owners Corey and Shauna Schultz have a combined 42 years of architectural experience, is a full service architectural firm for several different building types including but not limited to K-12 schools, post-secondary education, industrial buildings, retail, religious, office buildings, apartments, municipal work including fire stations, museums, city buildings, city libraries, emergency operation centers, and tornado shelters. We can provide services from new structures, additions, and remodels to maintenance projects including roofing projects, door/window replacements, site rework, and masonry restoration. We can also provide tornado shelter peer review services and existing tornado shelter assessments. Schultz Squared is committed to protect people from the effects of tornadic wind events and has positioned themselves to be one of the leaders in the country in tornado shelter design. Working with FEMA since the 1999 tornado outbreak that struck Oklahoma and Kansas, we have been involved in over 55 tornado shelters that have met the requirements of the FEMA 361 and many meeting the requirement of the International Code Council/National Storm Shelter Association ICC-500 documents. Corey has been involved in writing the original FEMA 361 Guidelines for Design and Construction of Community Shelters document and since has been on committees revising the document. Schultz Squared has also been involved in revision of the FEMA 320, Guidelines for Residential Shelters. Corey is also a voting member of the committee that produces the ICC-500 document. With those 42 years of experience, Corey and Shauna have worked on several different building types. With those experiences, Schultz Squared Architects will work hard to utilize what they have learned to provide the clients with designs that meet their needs with efficient buildings.
