Answer: River Metals Recycling, LLC (RMR) is a wholly owned venture of Cincinnati-based, The David J. Joseph Company (DJJ), one of the USAs largest scrap metal companies. Our parent companys rich history began in 1885. We possess a wealth of experience and an entrepreneurial spirit that is vital to success in the scrap recycling industry. DJJ is also part of Nucor Corporations family of companies. Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, Nucor is the leading purchaser of ferrous scrap and the largest recycler in North America. RMR was formed in 1998 by combining the Klempner Brothers yard, River City Baling, and River City Shredding (all in Louisville, KY) with DJJs Henderson, KY and Newport, KY yards. Today, we operate 19 recycling facilities in 5 states with a focused presence in the Louisville, Kentucky and Cincinnati, Ohio regions. We buy all types of ferrous and nonferrous scrap metals at each of our recycling locations, with a team of specialists who continually monitor market conditions to establish fair, competitive prices. We have a track record that speaks for itself: Integrity, reliability, timely payments, innovation and quality services that consistently exceed customers expectations.
