Answer: The RISE Resource Centre for Independent Living (RISE RCIL) is a not-for-profit, dedicated to providing support to physically disabled persons. RISE offers the Direct Funding program to people in the Districts of Parry Sound, Muskoka and Nipissing. Direct Funding is a Self-Managed Attendant Service funded by the Ministry of Health and administered through the Centre of Independent Living in Toronto (CILT). The program empowers qualified persons with permanent physical disabilities (16 years +) to employ, train and manage their own attendants. They can schedule their services when and where they need them at home, work or in the community.
