Answer: Represented Foundation is a Brooklyn-based nonprofit providing Black and Brown social entrepreneurs of color with a safe space to dream, create and manifest their ideas into real solutions with long term, positive impact on communities of color. Right now two-thirds of leading nonprofit organizations are run by White men. In a sector that focuses on uplifting underserved communities, this is a detrimental problem. Via our social impact incubator for Black and Brown social entrepreneurs and short-term engagement contracts we surround leaders of color with right the support systems, educational training and practical tools they need to thrive in the social impact field. Together with our diverse network of volunteer instructors, mentors and supporters we are committed to achieving parity for leaders of color in the social impact field. Today only 15% of social impact leaders are people of color. By the year 2045, when 50% of the US will be comprised of people of color, we want 50% of social impact leaders to reflect these same demographics.
