Answer: Q-Track provides Real-Time Location Systems (RTLS) similar to GPS, but more accurate and capable of working indoors. The companys mission is enabling Knowing Where, Anywhere. Q-Tracks "Near-Field Electromagnetic Ranging" or NFER systems employ a unique low-frequency, long-wavelength radio signal to achieve highly accurate (40 cm rms) location results even in complicated non-line-of-sight environments. With fifteen issued U.S. patents and extensive patent coverage abroad, Q-Track has the industry-leading portfolio of near-field electromagnetic ranging intellectual property. Q-Tracks NFER products keep workers safe from collisions with automated cranes in dozens of factories nationwide. The nuclear power industry was an early adopter of NFER products, using them to train employees to avoid exposure to radiation. Southern Company hosted the initial pilot at Plant Vogtle near Augusta, Georgia. Southern earned a Top Industry Practice Award for training from the Nuclear Energy Institute in 2010 in recognition of the pioneering deployment. Today, nearly a third of the nations nuclear power plants use NFER products. Q-Track won a large contract from Lockheed Martin in 2013 to use NFER products to track soldiers in a large training facility for Military Operations Urban Terrain (MOUT). NFER products can enable many RTLS applications. Q-Tracks products successfully track hockey players. Integrators are exploring many other applications. Q-Track has deployed NFER technology in a variety of work environments to prove that it can reliably track firefighters, corrections officers, miners, and nurses. Q-Tracks NFER RTLS technology provides the indoor GPS to bring location awareness to the most difficult environments.
