Answer: At Pomeroy Cellars we strive for well balanced wines that showcase both the grape varietal and vineyard characteristics. We allow each vintage to showcase its uniqueness and believe that the least amount of interference is the best. We promote definitive, bit not over powering tannins with complementary oak integration in our unfiltered red wines. We aim for good acid and crisp clean flavors in our white wines. We source our handpicked fruit from sustainably managed vineyards. We believe in cultivating a strong relationship with the vineyard managers to ensure the fruit meets the high quality standards of our winemaker. We believe in aggressive pruning as well as shoot thinning in our designated vineyard blocks to ensure low yields with higher quality and the most flavor rich fruit possible. We produce less than 1000 cases of wine per year. Our fermentation is done in small batches to ensure the best flavor extraction. We believe in gently pressing to avoid bitter tannins and overpowering phenols. We hope to highlight the profoundly unique characteristics of Washington State vineyards in wines that are drinkable today and age worthy for the future.
