Answer: Parks & Trails New York is New Yorks leading statewide advocate for parks and trails, dedicated since 1985 to improving our health, economy, and quality of life through the use and enjoyment of green space. Parks & Trails New York has worked with hundreds of community organizations and municipalities to envision, create, promote, and protect a growing network of parks and more than 1,500 miles of greenways, bike paths, and trails throughout New York State. Our advocacy efforts have led to increased long-term investment in our State Park and public lands systems through the Parks 2020 and (new!) Parks 100 initiatives. In addition, our work to promote and complete the Erie Canalway Trail has been instrumental in the creation of the longest multi-use trail in the nation: The Empire State Trail. Our mission is to expand, protect and promote a network of parks, trails, and open spaces throughout our state for use and enjoyment by all. Follow us @parkstrailsny, and tag us with #ptny.
