Answer: Nourish accelerates cycles of biological, cultural, and economic vitality in society what we call Nourishment Economies. Our central organization and global coalition of independent social and business entrepreneurs, scientists, and community and financial supporters works to spark and spread new initiatives, governance protocols, and enabling infrastructure towards this goal. We do this through real-time partnerships, research and analyses, and idea-and-action convenings with entrepreneurs and activists, scientists, and others. While we launched Nourish back in 2016, this work has become even more important and urgent as COVID-19, erratic weather conditions, and other forces disrupt communities and nations. We are focused on how to help stimulate more adaptive and regenerative economic, social, and environmental development. The foundation underlying this work is the wide range of benefits that result when social or business approaches cycle a wide spectrum of nutrients between land, plants, animals and people and back again, spawning regenerative rather than purely extractive economies and ecologies. Depending on local circumstance, these benefits can include healthier people, pollution reduction, more productive agriculture (including longer growing seasons, more resilient soils and water systems, and higher quality foods), adaptive product supply chains, carbon capture, biodiversity conservation, cultural integrity within and between communities, economic development, and other substantial gains.
