Answer: The National Cat Protection Society (NatCat) is a non-profit, no-kill 501(c)(3) animal shelter whose mission is dedicated to the protection and welfare of cats and kittens. A career humane officer, C. Richard Calore was inspired to form our safe haven 50 years ago by a kitty that kept him warm through the night during World War II. Today, we continue to provide attentive care for kitties, in our two Southern California shelters while they await loving forever homesin large, enclosed areas for our adult cats, a dedicated kitten center, and environmentally enriched retirement homes for older cats. We also actively provide humane education to spread the importance of spaying and neutering to prevent overpopulation, and of the humane treatment of all animals.
