Answer: The Minneapolis Aquatennial Ambassador Organization (AAO) is a Minnesota nonprofit Section 501(c)(3) public charity focused on inspiring young women. Community | Leadership | Volunteer Each year our Aquatennial Ambassadors visit dozens of communities and festivals across North America to build strong relationships and promote the Aquatennial festival and Minneapolis. The Ambassadors also volunteer time in service for other deserving organizations. The Queen of the Lakes and Aquatennial Princesses are selected as part of the Aquatennial Ambassador Candidate Program that takes place during the Aquatennial festival. Communities from across Minnesota send one of their former ambassadors to participate while enhancing their professional development and leadership skills. The AAO provides educational scholarships funded by its generous donors each year for the Aquatennial Queen of the Lakes and Princesses in recognition of their year of service. The AAO Mission Inspiring young women to achieve extraordinary futures by providing professional development opportunities through networking and mentoring.
