Answer: Our firm was originally founded in 1997 by our CEO, Chris Millerick as Millerick Metalworks. Like most small businesses, ours had very humble beginnings. The company headquarters was located in Chris residence: a spare bedroom converted to office space and a two car garage repurposed into a tiny welding and fabrication shop. Our earliest projects consisted primarily of small scale stainless steel and architectural iron work. Chris moonlighted as the sole estimator, draftsman, fabricator and field installer for the fledgling company. He could be found welding into the early hours of the morning in the shop as well as industrial facilities, hotels and even private residences. He retained his day job as a project manager with a large construction firm while working weekends and nights on his hobby. As our client base expanded and our projects began to grow in scope and size, employees were hired and field rigs outfitted to meet a growing demand for our services. In 2001, Chris acquired his General Engineering Contractors license and changed the company name to Millerick Engineering. By 2004, the company had become a going concern and required Chris complete attention. That year he left his day job and joined Millerick Engineering on a full time basis. In 2007, the firm incorporated, changed its name to Millerick Engineering, Inc. and had well over 100 employees. New markets for expansion and growth were being tested, especially in the mining and specialty minerals arenas. After the shift in the US economy in 2008 and the resulting impacts to the construction industry in Central California, ME, Inc. began to focus its efforts more on projects related to the mining and specialty minerals. Today, our firm continues to provider engineering, constructions and maintenance ervices to a number of global mining and manufacturing concerns.
