Answer: Marion County Health & Human Services (MCHHS) strives to create a safe and welcoming community where all people can access high quality health and human services, and are supported to achieve their highest level of health. MCHHS' Public Health Division includes more than 20 individual programs, provided by registered nurses, licensed sanitarians, registered dietitians, certified prevention & health education specialists, certified lactation consultants, nurse practitioners, health educators, public health workers, nutrition educators and specialists, an epidemiologist, a physician health officer, supervisors, and many support staff. Our Adult Behavioral Health Services are for those ages 18 years and older, suffering from persistent and severe mental illness, with impairments in functional ability that require service to provide stability and maintenance in the community and prevent decompensation that would require hospitalization. MCHHS' Children's Behavioral Health serves individuals ages 0 to 18 who are Medicaid eligible. We offer a full range of out-patient services, including mental health assessments, individual/family/group counseling, case management/consultation, skills training, psychiatric assessment and medication management, and crisis intervention. Our Psychiatric Crisis Center (PCC) provides crisis intervention services seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day for residents of the Mid-Willamette Valley, particularly Marion, Polk and Yamhill counties. We also offer crisis services at our Woodburn location. The Marion County Substance Abuse Prevention Program uses the science of prevention to support our communities in preventing abuse of alcohol and other substances. We collaborate with community-based organizations (CBOs), health care systems, neighborhood groups, schools, businesses and other organizations and individuals with an interest in preventing the incidence of drug and alcohol abuse in the community.
