Answer: The San Francisco Leather & LGBTQ Cultural District is one of several cultural districts funded by the city of San Francisco. Our Primary goals are to preserve the cultural, business and artistic aspects of the area, while attracting new opportunities that blend in to the environment. We wish to work with developers to provide affordable housing and commercial space that will attract our communitys residents and entrepreneurs back to the neighborhood. There used to be over 50 LGBTQ businesses in our district, and now there are only 13. We hope to preserve the history of our community and pass along our stories to the future generations.
