We were alone in embracing this belief. Our determination to reduce service intervals, fleet emissions and labor costs resulted in the development and application of a variety of self-watering technologies which did not require plumbing and worked in any plant-in-a-pot. In 1982 we were asked by American Savings Bank to design, install and maintain plants in 56 branches throughout northern California. We installed over 500 plants; all in self-watering pots.
