KCMPA's collaborative network enables seamless, coordinated care across the care continuum. The capabilities KCMPA has built empower quality measurement and improvement and provide understanding of the total cost of patient care. The adult primary care subset of KCMPA was accepted as an Accountable Care Organization (ACO) into the Medicare Shared Savings Program with responsibility for 12,000 Medicare beneficiaries on January 2, 2013. KCMPA represents independent physicians on the board of the regional Health Information Exchange called the Lewis And Clark Information Exchange (LACIE) and is authorized to offer significant discounts to practices that want to connect to LACIE.
