Answer: Junior Achievement (JA) is the nations largest organization dedicated to giving young people the knowledge and skills they need to: own their economic success, plan for their future, and make smart academic and economic choices. JA was founded in 1919 in Connecticut. JA USA Headquarters are located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Junior Achievement of Chattanooga, Inc. was founded in August 1960. We serve students in Hamilton, Marion, Catoosa, Walker and Sequatchie counties. Our volunteer-delivered, kindergarten-12th grade programs foster work-readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy skills, and use experiential learning to inspire students to dream big and reach their potential. During the 2012/2013 school year we reached 10,161 students in 501 classes in 66 schools. We had 458 volunteers from local businesses, civic organizations, colleges/universities, high schools, parents, and retirees. Our goal for the 2013/2014 school year is to reach 11,500 students in 575 classrooms in our service area.
