Answer: The Hope Grows mission to inspire hope through nature while empowering caregivers to seek wellness of mind, body, and spirit. We seek to put an end to caregiver death and be the organization that caregivers trust and turn to for personalized assistance, therapeutic services, and resources at any point in their journey regardless of their financial means. We fulfill our mission by providing mental health counseling, support groups, psycho educational programming, and therapeutic respite activities directly to caregivers and care recipients throughout the Pittsburgh region. Horticultural therapy, mindfulness practices, and strengths-based interventions inform our unique therapeutic model. Our core values are strongly connected to the belief that connecting to nature and the natural world is therapeutic and that the path to wellness is to be found through a positive, holistic, and mindful approach. We believe that caregivers not only need a break they deserve one. Our horticultural therapy component is inclusive, connecting everyone, regardless of ability, to plants, gardening activities, and the closeness we all feel toward nature by way of universally designed programs that adapt the garden to meet the needs of the participants.
