Answer: Hindus for Human Rights (HfHR) is a U.S.-based advocacy organization that is committed to the ideals of multi-religious pluralism in the United States, India and beyond. We speak from a Hindu perspective for shanti (peace), nyaya (justice) and the manavtha (human rights) of all communities. Our vision is lokasangraha (universal common good) - a world where there is peace among all people, and our planet is honored and protected. We provide a platform for progressive Hindu voices and to those working in India and the U.S. on civil liberties and minority rights. We educate elected officials and peoples movements in the U.S. about the situation in India, as well as adding a Hindu voice of resistance to human rights violations occurring across the globe. We participate in peaceful democratic protest movements, write opinion pieces, organize conferences and hearings, and mobilize through social media to garner momentum and support.
