Answer: Seeking to put God's love into action, we bring people together to build homes, communities, and hope. We are a volunteer-centered organization. Volunteers work with our staff to build safe, affordable homes in the Mid-Ohio Valley (Wasinggton County, OH and Wood County, WV). Potential homeowneres must show a need for housing, must be willing to serve by completing sweat equity volunteer hours, and must be able to pay back an interest-free mortgage on their house. Volunteers also help run our ReStore. The ReStore is a low-cost store that sells donations of construction materials, hardware, and homegoods to the community at low prices. The ReStore helps keep these items out of landfills; provides materials and goods to families at prices lower than big box stores, which helps them keep their own homes safe, affordable, and comfortable; and provides funding to Habitat for Humanity to continue to build homes in the Mid-Ohio Valley. Volunteers also serve on our board of directors, various board committees, and speical event committees.
