Answer: For over sixty-five years, GCSA has been helping NYC public school students from underserved communities prepare for college and its financial toll. We are a non-profit organization that establishes meaningful relationships between New York City high school students and volunteer mentors from the business community. In partnership with some of the largest and leading companies in the metropolitan area (e.g., Google, Twitter, Penguin Random House, SL Green), the GCSA mentoring program empowers youth with a unique opportunity to experience first-hand the world of work, develop relationships with mentors who serve as role models and provide innovative guidance to students as they develop their goals and focus on their postsecondary future. In addition to our mentoring program, GCSA awards scholarships to all participating students as stipends of approximately $9,000 across the course of their college years. GCSA offers underserved high school students a chance to set goals, dream big, and build a bright future, knowing that they have a reliable support system in place. We track the progress of our college students, supporting them with resume feedback, networking opportunities, and seasonal check-ins. We are very proud of our work and all our students accomplishments.
