Answer: Hunger disparities affect all cultures and are rooted in the inequalities of those with the least social, economic, and political power. We believe that no one should go hungry, feel judged, fearful, or embarrassed to seek our services. We have removed rules that may hinder someone facing food insecurity from visiting our organization. Our Mission is to provide equitable access to nutritious food, with dignity, to those in the community facing food insecurity. Through our values, policies, and practices that drive our internal culture and external partnerships, we strive for an environment where all people are treated with fairness. Our purpose is: 1. Establishing and maintaining a food bank that procures, stores, and distributes food to alleviate hunger within our community. Removing access barriers to nutritional foods by identifying gaps in systems and applying innovative solutions such as our dignity focused grocery store choice model, stigma free home delivery program, and self-service refrigerated lockers. Providing fresh and nutritional foods contributes to ones overall health and wellness while addressing their specific cultural and dietary needs. Being a conduit to connect resources to those in need. Partnering and collaborating with organizations that provide supportive services to our customers outside of their food needs. Advocating for those facing poverty, hunger, and food insecurity. We are advocates for food and social justice by educating our stakeholders on the systemic causes of food insecurity and inequality. Collaborating and partnering with stakeholders to sustain our mission. We have strategic partners that not only invest in our mission, but also understand their role in contributing to a strong, equitable, and resilient local food system.
