Answer: Glover Park Village is a volunteer-based, non-profit organization serving adults who are aging in the community. Our Village was developed eleven years ago as an outgrowth of the Glover Park Citizens Association (GPCA) with start-up funding from the GPCA and ANC 3B. We provide social and learning events, assistance, information, and opportunities to share talents and time. Through our volunteer management model, we engage neighborhood residents, including older adults, to support one another in improving our services and access within the community and live fulfilling lives. Our participants are encouraged to contribute to village endeavors, to make new connections, and receive the support needed to continue to live in familiar surroundings. We provide case management as well as social, educational, and wellness programming. Our social and learning events serve several of our purposes, building community, social engagement, brain health, and giving back. All of our activities, programs, and events are designed and coordinated by volunteers and are free and open to the public.
