Answer: GMCLAS Mission is to create musical experiences that strengthen our role as a leader among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) and performing arts organizations, enrich our member-artists, support LGBT youth, challenge homophobia, and expose new communities to our message of equality. GMCLA sings for a future free from homophobia and all other discrimination. GMCLA produces three yearly concerts for our Los Angeles audiences. Beyond the stage, we conduct these three outreach programs: Alive Music Project (AMP) which in the last ten years has reached over 50,000 middle and high school students in the Los Angeles area with a message of acceptance and hope through music, It Gets Better Tour - travels around the country to communities nationwide and produces a week of educational workshops culminating in a moving musical theater performance, Arts for Incarcerated Youth - through our partnership with the AYN network members of GMCLA conduct music training for incarcerated at-risk youth.
