Answer: Wild animals. Wild lands. The incredibly wild Scotchman Peaks. Saving wild country is about leaving a place for children to grow up wild. For adults to find their wild place. We need places open for hiking, riding horses, snowshoeing, backcountry skiing, hunting, fishing and picking huckleberries. We need places beyond the mayhem of motors. We need to be able to hear elk bugle, deer snort and mountain goats clack their hooves. We need wild places for ourselves, our kids, their kids and even mountain goat kids. FSPW also works to connect everyone to their wild backyard. Volunteers generously give their time maintaining the trails that keep the Scotchmans accessible. They educate adults and kids alike on the natural world and why it matters. Perhaps most importantly, they inspire others through their passion and enthusiasm for wild places. The world needs country left untamed. And, for Idaho and Montana, Scotchman Peaks is that wild place.
