Answer: eCaptions arranges for on-site and remote realtime captioning services. These services are sometimes referred to as speech-to-text, voice-to-text or, formally, as CART (Communication Access Realtime Translation). Additionally, eCaptions also can also arrange for video captioning services, including YouTube videos; as well as transcriptions for audio only media. Our agency, founded in 1997, was one of the first agencies for these services in San Diego County and we have an established reputation for working with high-quality captioning service providers in an array of venues. Our customers come from the fields of higher-education, governmental entities, healthcare businesses and technical organizations. CART and captioning are recognized as effective communication access under the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and therefore meet the non-discrimination requirements mandated by this act. Captioning services enable Deaf and hard-of-hearing students and employees to fully participate in meetings, workshops, presentations, conferences, lectures, seminars, conference calls, webinars, graduations, convocations, etc. Note: eCaptions employs no captioners of our own. The providers we send are fully qualified and reliable independent contractors.
