Not only can we reduce the 61%, but we can improve the quality of the collaboration using modern platforms such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and Yammer. It has never been easier to improve collaboration, but most companies dont know what to do with such revolutionary technology. Ive been passionate about eliminating waste in collaborative processes for more than twenty years. In the corporate world, I was charged with doing just that at more than ninety power plants and for the service groups that supported them. I left the corporate world so I could work with fewer clients in order to get a higher percentage of projects across the finish line and experience more personal satisfaction. I most enjoyed working with Regional VPs and Senior VPs because they had the clout to make things happen. Their projects were higher priority for participants. Those projects also had much higher ROI. My favorite project was one in which my single SharePoint idea saved the company more than $500,000 annually. That idea only took one day of development and was implemented with a one-hour presentation by conference call, repeated four times to reach the large number of managers in six states. I launched this consulting practice to experience more satisfaction like that.
