Answer: Community Culture Change (C3) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in East Los Angeles. In partnership with local church Restoration LA, we seek to empower the East LA community, engage the local culture, and inspire systemic and personal change. To do this, we run specific projects based on the needs of our community, not only to serve and meet those needs, but to grow and empower people. Our first project is a tutoring program that serves elementary school students. We currently have 15 volunteer tutors and staff and over 25 students. We have seen great results in math, reading, and homework help. Our future projects include a community garden, a youth video game league, mentoring, and a community center where like minded social entrepreneurs and community leaders can gather to engage, inspire, and collaborate.
