Answer: Founded as Paden de la Fuente in 1992, by Ana Gemma de la Fuente and Lynn Scott Paden, Citadel DCA is an architecture and design firm in Washington, D.C. with a special focus on planning, preservation and heritage conservation. Over the past six years, Citadel has overseen rehabilitation and restoration projects for many of Washingtons most important historic sites including Blair House, the Old Post Office and the United States Department of Agricultures campus on the National Mall. Their recently completed restoration of the U.S. Naval Academys only remaining 19th century structures, won a 2017 Preservation Maryland Award. Citadels recent commissions include multiple projects at the U.S. Treasury, restoration of Delano & Aldrichs iconic Hemicycle at the William Jefferson Clinton Federal Building in the Federal Triangle, and developing a Preservation and Maintenance Plan for the 1746, National Register, Elizabeth Furnace Plantation in Lititz, Pennsylvania. The firms work over the last twentyfive years has been diverse in scope and budget. From master planning of historic sites, to heritage museums and the adaptive reuse of historic structures. Citadel is known for being a collaborative partner who bring passion and perseverance to each project; whether it be a small intervention to a historic building, a heritage site, or peer review and preservation oversight of a multimilliondollar adaptive reuse project.
