Answer: Chaps Lip Balm was founded in a classroom at the University of Washington Foster School of Business. Our founders had to Create a Company as a requirement in the Entrepreneurship program. After much consideration, we came up with a concept to solve an everyday need, but in a fun, sustainable way. It was decided to invent cocktail-flavored lip balm that we could sell on campus. After receiving a grant, Chaps Lip Balm began selling in stores and online. As sales grew and the concept started to gain momentum, we caught the attention of our first brick and mortar retailers, which helped kick-start what has become a thriving wholesale and direct to consumer brand and lifestyle. Established in 2015, we continue to deliver on the commitment to producing the highest quality products while introducing sustainable lifestyle choices. WHAT'S IN THIS STUFF? -Plant-Based Wax: Some use beeswax, but Chaps is Vegan. Beeswax extraction methods can be harmful to Bees and yields very little wax per harvestvery unsustainable. Help us save Bees worldwide by choosing Chaps. -Coconut Oil: The only moisturizer you need. The light texture of coconut oil acts as a master cleanser, soothing skin and replenishing moisture. It can also help protect against harmful effects of direct sunlight. -Avocado Oil: While it feels amazingly silky on the skin, it also has multiple vitamins that make this oil highly appealing and sought after. Avocado oil is a heavier oil, which is great for treating damaged dry skin. -Sweet Almond Oil: This is a hypoallergenic oil which can be safely used on a variety of skin types.
