Answer: Center for Supportive Communities (CSC) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation in Lawrence, KS, founded by Dr. Kelsey Dachman and Madison Graham. Dr. Dachman received a Ph.D. in behavioral psychology at the University of Kansas and is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Ms. Graham is pursuing a Ph.D. in behavioral psychology at the University of Kansas. Rock Chalk! Our mission is to use behavioral science to create equal opportunities and meaningful change for children, families, and communities. We help communities infuse evidence-based interventions to foster healthy youth development and sustainable behavior change. We lead with compassion and respect while doing what works to create change that matters to you. CSCs SupportED program functions as a community diversion program for Douglas County truant students and their families and a training program for young professionals. SupportED uses evidence-based interventions to increase school attendance and engagement, counteract missed educational instruction, expand opportunities for success, and keep students and families out of the system. We work as a village to bridge communication gaps among system providers, and to identify needs, coordinate services, and implement individualized interventions grounded in behavioral science. SupportED blends the talents and knowledge of diverse partners and collaborators to deliver a community-based, rehabilitative approach to solving our nation's absenteeism crisis. Ensuring all children receive an education by removing barriers and implementing reinforcement-based strategies is a critical first step toward breaking intergenerational cycles of school dropout, undereducation, violence, and incarceration. CSC consults with organizations and providers to enhance the quality and efficacy of service delivery within and beyond Douglas County. CSC can help you better help others. We are better together, so lets connect! Contact us to collaborate or to get involved with CSC.
