Answer: Caiman is an oasis in the Pantanal. It was founded in 1987 with the purpose of conserving the local fauna, flora and culture. More than 500 animal species roam freely on our 53,000 hectare property, with the guarantee that their habitat is preserved. They co-exist in harmony with traditional livestock, which is so important for the culture and economic sustainability of the Pantanal. As part of our commitment to the perpetual preservation of this biome, in 2004 we founded the Private Reserve of Natural Patrimony - RPPN Dona Aracy, an area of 5,600 hectares that corresponds to 10% of the total area of our refuge. More than a hotel, we are an innovative experiment, which encompasses different environmental initiatives linked to awareness and conservation of the Pantanal. The Oncafari and Hyacinth Macaw projects are based at Caiman, where Blue Fronted Parrot also leads important research and monitoring work. By visiting Caiman, you are contributing to the preservation of this biome, which is so fundamental for the well-being of the planet.
