Answer: The Boca Raton Police Foundation (BRPF) is a charitable 501(c)(3) organization that exists to support the Boca Raton Police Department (BRPD). The BRPD has 216 law enforcement officers and an annual budget of approximately $49 million. But with over 94% of its budget devoted to personnel and operations, BRPD has little financial flexibility in an era in which the threats facing our community are growing and becoming more complex. The Department is responsible for patrolling an area of 29.6 square miles and a population of approximately 90,000 residents. On a given day that number rises to over 200,000 individuals that include those working and visiting the City. The BRPF exists for one reason: to raise much-needed funds for training, equipment and technology for the Boca Raton Police Department.
