Answer: Arete Scholars is a nonprofit that opens doors of educational opportunity to economically disadvantaged children in Georgia and Louisiana. Through budget-neutral tax credit scholarship programs, we partner with community-minded corporations, foundations, and individuals to empower parents to choose K-12 schools that best meet the learning needs of their children. The scholarships are helping transform the lives of those who face the greatest obstacles to academic and personal achievement. According to studies by the National Center for Children in Poverty, the biggest factor on a childs education is their family income. With around 43% of children living at or below the poverty line, most families are forced to send their children to poorly funded, poorly equipped schools. This drastically decreases their chances of graduating and pursuing higher education. With a poor outlook, most struggle to make ends meet and continue a vicious cycle of low-income, poorly educated children. Its our job to stop that cycle. With your help, we can help these families send their children to schools that are well-equipped to help them pursue futures where they best utilize their unique gifts and talents. Please help us in the fight for the future of these kids.
