Answer: Antson Capital is a private equity buyout group based in Baltimore, Maryland. We work with closely held operating businesses where aging owners do not have a succession plan. A majority of these businesses have operating talent that does not have the means to buy out the founder and many founders are unwilling to become the primary source of financing for such a buy out. Additionally, many founders also own the real estate used in the business, compounding their liquidity problem. Few third parties are interested in purchasing these enterprises, as most, while profitable, are too small for institutional investors to be interested and also view the real estate as a complicating factor. The focus is on acquiring small to middle market companies and their associated real estate in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Antson targets acquisitions in real estate, contracting, logistics, service and light manufacturing, with revenues of $5 million to $25 million and EBITDA of $500,000 to $5 million. All industries, including some retail opportunities, will be considered with the exception of start-ups, hospitality and heavy manufacturing and industry. It is preferred that the acquired company owns or has the option to own their associated real estate.
